Former Vikings punter has no sympathy for Blair Walsh

The Minnesota Vikings released kicker Blair Walsh on Tuesday after his kicking woes continued.

While many Vikings fans won't be sad to see him go, neither will former Vikings punter Chris Kluwe.

Kluwe was the Vikings' punter from 2005 to 2012 and shared a locker room with Walsh for one season. He tweeted his feelings on Minnesota's roster move minutes after it was announced.

Kluwe wrote an article in 2014 in which he accused the team's special teams coordinator Mike Priefer of using gay slurs in 2012. Walsh responded by supporting Priefer, stating in a statement, "I have had countless conversations and interactions with coach Priefer, and I personally can attest to his integrity and character. His professionalism in the workplace is exemplary, and I firmly believe that my teammates would whole-heartedly agree. The allegations made today are reprehensible and totally not compatible with what Mike Priefer stands for."
