The Washington Redskins have signed former Green Bay Packers long snapper Rick Lovato, a source told ESPN's Adam Schefter.
With long snapper Nick Sundberg nursing a back injury, Washington Redskins head coach Jay Gruden announced Friday that backup quarterback Colt McCoy would be Sundberg's replacement if he wasn't able to play Sunday against the Packers.
The signing of Lovato, however, means McCoy will only be tasked with holding onto his clipboard, barring an emergency, robbing NFL fans of some potentially entertaining moments.
It also all but rules out Sundberg from the contest.
