Johnson and his partner Lindsey Arnold made it to Tuesday's two-hour finale, but fell short to IndyCar driver James Hinchcliffe and Olympic gymnast Laurie Hernandez, who won the competition with her partner.
The 31-year-old receiver retired from the NFL last March and was barbed by former teammates when he entered the competition.
