Cam Newton fields multiple questions about neckties
In a bizarre postgame press conference, Carolina Panthers star quarterback Cam Newton spent the majority of it answering questions about ties. Not draws or tie games. The neckwear.
Newton was benched for the Panthers' first series in Sunday night's game against the Seattle Seahawks for violating a team dress code rule. As a result, backup Derek Anderson threw an interception on the first play of the game.
Newton - not normally a fan of media scrums - was up front about the chain of events that resulted in his benching. The five-minute exchange, in which Newton was asked seven questions relating to his team-flight attire, was shared on Panthers.com.
