Oakland Raiders guard Kelechi Osemele revealed he missed Thursday's game against the Kansas City Chiefs due to kidney stones.

Osemele was a surprise inactive for the game and was ruled out with an undisclosed illness.

"It started around 2 in the morning," Osemele told ESPN's Paul Gutierrez. "It's pretty painful (stuff). I wouldn’t wish that on anybody."

"It was five millimeters, so I passed it naturally,” Osemele added. "It kind of felt like razor blades, you know?"

Raiders head coach Jack Del Rio said he waited until the last possible minute before ruling Osemele out.

"We were hopeful up until the game," Del Rio said Monday. "I have to submit a list right before I meet with the officials, an hour and a half before the game. We were kind of hopeful, but it wasn’t going to be a go."

Osemele is in the midst of an outstanding season, in which some expect him to contend for All-Pro honors.
