Cowboys clinch 1st-round bye, division title with Giants' loss
Matthew Emmons / USA TODAY Sports
For the first time since 2007, the Dallas Cowboys have clinched a first-round playoff bye as the New York Giants lost to the Philadelphia Eagles 24-19 on Thursday night.
The Cowboys will have home-field advantage throughout the NFC playoffs and earned their first NFC East title since 2014. The Giants can still clinch a wild-card spot this week with help from other teams, or by virtue of a win next week.
It didn't take long for several Cowboys players to celebrate the accomplishment on Twitter.
