Report: Broncos' Kubiak likely to step down due to health concerns

Denver Broncos head coach Gary Kubiak is likely to step down from his position after Sunday's game against the Oakland Raiders, as his family is concerned about his heath, sources told ESPN's Adam Schefter.

Kubiak was forced to leave the team with a complex migraine condition in October, and previously suffered a mini-stroke while coaching the Houston Texans in 2013. Sources told Schefter that the physical demands of coaching have become too much for the 55-year-old Kubiak.

MMQB's Albert Breer reports that Kubiak had "found contentment" as the Baltimore Ravens' offensive coordinator in 2014 and wasn't sure he wanted to take on the stress of being a head coach again, but when the opportunity with the Broncos - the team Kubiak played for - came up, he decided to chase his "dream job."

Kubiak has spent the past two seasons as head coach of the Broncos, winning Super Bowl 50 in 2015, but missing the playoffs this season.

According to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network, Miami Dolphins defensive coordinator Vance Joseph is a potential candidate to replace Kubiak.
