Report: 49ers to interview Packers execs Wolf, Gutekunst for vacant GM job
The San Francisco 49ers will interview Green Bay Packers director of football operations Eliot Wolf for their vacant general manager position this week, a source told NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.
The 49ers will also meet with Packers director of player personnel Brian Gutekunst about the same position, a source told ESPN's Adam Schefter.
Wolf acts as Packers general manager Ted Thompson's second-in-command and is viewed as a potential successor for Thompson whenever he opts to retire.
Eliot is the son of former Packers general manager and 2015 Pro Football Hall of Fame inductee Ron Wolf.
Gutekunst has spent 18 seasons in the Packers' front office, and was the team's director of college scouting for three seasons before being promoted to his current role in March 2016.
