The San Francisco 49ers are interviewing Carolina Panthers defensive coordinator Sean McDermott for their vacant head coaching position Tuesday.
The 49ers will also meet with ESPN analyst Louis Riddick on Tuesday about the general manager position, reports NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.
McDermott has spent 16 seasons coaching in the NFL, six of those in his current position. He guided the sixth-ranked defense last season, which was instrumental in the Panthers' Super Bowl appearance.
A former NFL safety, Riddick was the director of pro personnel for both the Washington Redskins and Philadelphia Eagles before making the transition to broadcasting in 2013.
