Report: Seahawks' Shead tore ACL vs. Falcons, out up to 8 months
Jason Getz / USA TODAY Sports
Seattle Seahawks defensive back DeShawn Shead will undergo surgery to repair a torn ACL suffered in Saturday's loss to the Atlanta Falcons, a source told NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.
Shead - who's set to become a free agent in March - is facing the standard recovery time of up to eight months.
The 27-year-old defender left Saturday's game after suffering the non-contact injury attempting to tackle Falcons receiver Taylor Gabriel and had to be carted off.
The injury could be devastating for Shead's contract negotiations, after he was set to cash in following an impressive season starting at cornerback opposite Richard Sherman.
