Steelers release former top-10 pick Justin Gilbert

The Pittsburgh Steelers released cornerback Justin Gilbert on Monday.
Gilbert was acquired in a trade with the Cleveland Browns in September. The 25-year-old was selected eighth overall in the 2014 NFL Draft but hasn't been able to live up to lofty expectations.

During his lone season with the Steelers, Gilbert recorded three tackles in 12 games, playing sparingly.
Over his three-year career, Gilbert recorded one interception.
