Kansas City Chiefs general manager John Dorsey spoke to the media on Friday and characterized ongoing contract discussions with impending free agents Dontari Poe and Eric Berry as "positive."
Berry's camp has a different perspective, however.
"I wouldn't characterize it as 'positive,' but we are talking," Berry's agent Chad Speck said on Twitter Thursday. "We've got a long ways to go."
Berry has expressed a desire to return to Kansas City but also made it clear he won't sign a franchise tag.
The All-Pro safety recorded four interceptions and two touchdowns this season. Poe is the team's standout nose tackle who added passing and rushing touchdowns to his ledger this year.
