James White: Patriots' Super Bowl comeback a 1-in-100 miracle

John David Mercer / USA TODAY Sports

The New England Patriots' Super Bowl victory was improbable and even members of the team can't deny it.

Patriots running back James White played an integral role in the game, hauling in 14 receptions, amassing 139 total yards, and scoring three touchdowns. He helped erase a 28-3 deficit to the Atlanta Falcons and he told Jacob Feldman of Sports Illustrated that the Patriots likely couldn't pull off the comeback again if they tried.

"If we play that game 100 times, we probably lose 99 times and win once," White said. "It still seems really crazy."

At one point in the game, the Falcons held better than a 98 percent chance of taking the Lombardi Trophy. So there's no disputing his statement.
