The Jacksonville Jaguars have declined the option in left tackle Kelvin Beachum's contract, and he will now be a free agent, sources told NFL Network's Mike Garafolo.
Beachum signed a five-year deal last offseason, which included a $5-million option to pick up the last four years.
Jacksonville saves $4.5 million toward the cap by choosing not to retain Beachum. The Jaguars will also save $6.5 million, $8 million, and $10 million toward their 2018, 2019, and 2020 caps, respectively.
The 27-year-old started 15 games last season, missing one due to a concussion. He was solid throughout the campaign, but the size of his deal likely prompted the Jaguars to move on.
