Fournette tips combine scales at 240 lbs, heaviest of all RB prospects
Top running back prospect Leonard Fournette weighed in at 240 pounds at the NFL Scouting Combine on Wednesday, an increase of five pounds over his listed playing weight at LSU.
Fournette is the heaviest running back in Indianapolis, but NFL scouts won't necessarily view that as a negative. Fournette is a freakish athlete who has a chance to run the fastest 40-yard dash time among all players at the combine despite his bulk.
The Las Vegas over/under 40-yard dash time is 4.43 seconds, according to FootballGuys.com's Sigmund Bloom, who notes the fastest time ever run by a tailback at 240 pounds or higher is 4.53 seconds.
As long as Fournette shows his added weight is muscle and not fat, and that it doesn't slow him down, teams may view his extra five pounds as an added bonus.
