Former Ohio State standout Malik Hooker said he's ahead of schedule in recovery from surgery to repair a torn labrum in his hip, according to Chris Emma of CBS Chicago.
Hooker is projected by most analysts to be a first-round pick in the upcoming NFL draft, and it's possible he's the first safety taken off the board.
The unanimous All-American underwent surgery in January and is projected to return during rookie minicamp.
Hooker impressed during the combine, with his 10 3/4-inch hands and 77 3/4-inch wingspan drawing rave reviews.
