Report: FOX targeting Romo for broadcast role, other networks interested
Tim Heitman / USA TODAY Sports
Tony Romo may have a new career by next September.
FOX Sports is targeting the Dallas Cowboys quarterback to replace John Lynch on the broadcast, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. Other networks are also interested in pursuing Romo.
Lynch was hired as the general manager of the San Francisco 49ers on Jan. 29, his first role in any management capacity.
Romo is expected to be released by the Cowboys, with Dak Prescott supplanting him for the starting role. However, the veteran quarterback has shown no indication that he plans to transition out of professional football anytime soon.
