Report: Dolphins delete 2018 year from Hayes' contract

The Miami Dolphins have deleted the 2018 year from defensive end William Hayes' contract, making him a free agent after next season, a source told ESPN's Field Yates.
The move will free up $5 million in cap space for Miami in 2018. The Dolphins recently acquired Hayes via trade with the Los Angeles Rams for a conditional sixth-round draft pick.
The 31-year-old spent the last five seasons with the Rams, becoming a regular starter over the past three years. He will likely need to compete against the likes of Cameron Wake and Andre Branch for a starting job on Miami's line in training camp.
