Former NFL safety Myron Rolle earns neurosurgery residency at Harvard
It's not often an NFL career is a footnote on one's list of accomplishments, but former Florida State and NFL safety Myron Rolle is well on his way to making that happen.
Rolle, who was drafted in the sixth round by the Tennessee Titans in 2010 and also spent some time with the Pittsburgh Steelers before leaving football in 2013 to attend medical school, announced this week he has landed a neurosurgery residency at Massachusetts General Hospital and Harvard.
"Seven years of neurosurgery is a big deal, something I wanted for a long time, really excited about it. Today is just great, it's remarkable," Rolle told WCTV.tv in Tallahassee about his acceptance to the residency.
Rolle never recorded a stat in his brief NFL career, but perhaps he always had bigger plans in mind.
