During the 2014 Heisman Trophy ceremony, Amari Cooper told an emotional story about how, when he was growing up in Miami, his mother would walk roughly three miles to the grocery store because they didn't own a vehicle.
The Oakland Raiders wide receiver hasn't forgotten about the sacrifices his mom made, and repaid her by buying her a new house and car.
"I grew up in the projects, we didn't even own a car," Cooper wrote in an Instagram post. "The whole story is way too long and melancholic, but just know a dream can go a long way if it's followed by faith and hard work. It took us 20-plus years but now my mother has the house and car of her dreams. You deserve it mama, I love you."
