Browns' Corey Coleman: Could work from slot if Gordon returns
Coleman could be pushed to the slot if Josh Gordon (suspension) is reinstated by the NFL and retained by the Browns, NFL.com's Ian Rapoport reports.
Analysis:
Head coach Hue Jackson recently said he expects Coleman to serve as the team's No. 1 receiver, but the plan could change if Gordon reenters the picture. While it was previously believed Gordon wouldn't get another shot, Browns executive vice president Sashi Brown suggested it isn't out of the question. Gordon's presence would considerably diminish Coleman's fantasy appeal, providing significant competition for targets in an offense that likely will struggle with poor quarterback play. Coleman might be pushed to the slot in three-wide sets, but his snap count shouldn't be too much of a concern, as the Browns would probably keep him on the field over Gordon or Kenny Britt in two-wide formations.
