Report: Ray Rice mentoring young players, not coaching

While Ray Rice is still not back in football, he's looking to help those who are.

It was reported Monday that Rice had accepted a job coaching running backs at a high school in New Jersey, but the school quickly denied he had been hired.

Rice met with a high school coach - and former college teammate - in New Jersey recently, but it was not about a coaching job, according to TMZ Sports.

Instead, Rice was there to speak to the team about making good decisions, like he has at other schools over the past few years. Despite not offering him a job, school officials and students gave Rice, who wants to continue working with youth, positive feedback, a close friend of his told TMZ.

Rice has been unsuccessfully campaigning to return to football since being suspended in 2014 after video emerged of him striking his then-fiance in an elevator.
