Sanchez to wear Cutler's old jersey number with Bears
Billy Hurst / USA TODAY Sports
Of all the players in the league to wear each other's jersey numbers, Mark Sanchez and Jay Cutler should probably be at the back of the list.
But alas, the two quarterbacks whose skills have been overshadowed by their on-field blunders will have shared a very similar look by next season.
After Cutler left the number six jersey vacant upon his offseason release, Sanchez failed to see the obvious irony, and chose the digits for his first season with the Chicago Bears.
Sanchez had worn No. 6 through college and the first four years of his career before switching to No. 3 for the past three seasons. Clearly, he missed the number dearly.
