Two running backs with first-round talent but significant character concerns were selected in Friday's second round of the NFL draft, with the Minnesota Vikings nabbing Dalvin Cook at 41st overall and the Cincinnati Bengals following by selecting Joe Mixon 48th.
Setting aside each player's off-field red flags, which player is in a better position for on-field success as a rookie?
It's not an easy question to answer. Both of them face plenty of competition on the depth chart. The Vikings signed Latavius Murray in free agency and have Jerick McKinnon in the mix, while the Bengals still have Jeremy Hill and Giovani Bernard on the roster.
Cook and Mixon are no lock to start in Week 1, or at any point in their rookie seasons, but they wouldn't be second-round picks if the Vikings and Bengals didn't see them as future stars.
Complicating matters is the fact both the Vikings and Bengals have major holes along their offensive lines - to the extent that it's not outlandish to suggest they could be the two worst offensive lines in football.
So ... which running back will come out on top in his rookie campaign?
