49ers' Lynch after draft: 'I feel like I played a game and some'
The football community at-large anxiously awaited how John Lynch would perform during his first draft as the San Francisco 49ers general manager. Most outlets agreed that Lynch passed with flying colors and the rookie executive is somewhat relieved after an exhilarating weekend.
San Francisco traded down to acquire defensive lineman Solomon Thomas and inside linebacker Reuben Foster in the first round, both of whom were considered top-15 talents prior to the event.
The 49ers are well positioned to improve on a 2-14 season and Lynch said he didn't expect to be so worn out after the player selection event concluded.
"No one told me this deal was this tiring. I feel like I played a game and some," Lynch said to ESPN's Adam Schefter.
Lynch didn't possess any executive experience prior to taking the 49ers job and has plenty of work to do after finishing his first draft.
