Free-agent wide receiver Victor Cruz will visit with the Jacksonville Jaguars, a source told USA TODAY Sports' Tom Pelissero.

Cruz was initially reported to be visiting the Jaguars on Thursday, but the wideout told ESPN's Josina Anderson that his meeting with the Jaguars is scheduled for May 23. Pelissero later clarified that Cruz will indeed be headed to Jacksonville to work out from May 23-24.

The former Pro Bowl receiver will visit with another team much sooner, as he is scheduled to meet with the Chicago Bears on Monday, according to Art Stapleton of NorthJersey.com.

Cruz has received minimal interest since his release from the New York Giants on Feb. 13. The veteran pass-catcher reportedly visited the Carolina Panthers and had interest from the Denver Broncos.

Cruz's former head coach with the Giants, Tom Coughlin, is now the Jaguars' executive vice president of football operations.

Allen Robinson and Allen Hurns sit atop Jacksonville's receiver depth chart, but both regressed in 2016, and a lack of depth behind them limited the offense.

The Jaguars did select Dede Westbrook in the fourth round of this year's draft, but he may not be ready to contribute from Day 1, hence the interest in Cruz.
