49ers could be willing to trade NaVorro Bowman
Could the San Francisco 49ers be willing to part with star linebacker NaVorro Bowman?
The Ringer's Mike Lombardi certainly thinks so.
"They're definitely doing that. They've made it known that if you want him, he's healthy, they'll be willing to move," Lombardi told host Tate Frazier on a recent episode of "The Ringer NFL Show."
Lombardi was the first person to break the news that the Seattle Seahawks were shopping cornerback Richard Sherman earlier this offseason, something both the team and player later confirmed.
Bowman is returning from a torn Achilles and also has a severe knee injury in his recent past. Lombardi suggests that with John Lynch now in charge of the 49ers' personnel, and the team presumably rebuilding, it makes sense to move on from the soon-to-be 29-year-old veteran.
The 49ers' recent moves suggest it could be true. The team traded back into the first round of the draft to select linebacker Reuben Foster 31st overall. Though Bowman and Foster could both play in the same linebacking corps, the latter could also replace the former.
