Jaguars' Jackson appreciates Marrone's 'no BS' approach

Jacksonville Jaguars defensive lineman Malik Jackson is welcoming a more disciplined approach to his team's philosophy this season.

Jackson signed a six-year, $90-million contract with the Jaguars in March after capturing a Super Bowl with the Denver Broncos. The 27-year-old was in for a rude awakening during his first season with the club, though, as the Jaguars slumped to a 3-13 record.

Jacksonville fired head coach Gus Bradley on Dec. 18, permanently replacing him with Doug Marrone.

Jackson is certainly more responsive to Marrone's approach to the game.

"Marrone's not taking any BS, and I think that's the way it should be," Jackson said via NFL.com's Marc Sessler. "He's handling this with an iron fist, and guys are conforming, enjoying the time and understanding that we need to win some games."

After finishing dead last in the AFC South, Jackson is fully committed to the new regime.

"Going 3-13 is not acceptable," Jackson said. "And whatever we need to do ... we're going to do what Doug says."
