Torrey Smith blasts Giants for comments about ex-teammate Kaepernick
Torrey Smith spent the last two years with Colin Kaepernick as his quarterback. While the two didn't find much chemistry on the field, Smith has his former teammate's back off of it.
After New York Giants owner John Mara said his team didn't consider signing Kaepernick because of some letters from fans, Smith, who has gone to bat for his old quarterback several times this offseason, took exception to his reasoning.
It's amazing what folks consider going too far..you can do all kinds of crazy things and get a 2nd chance but you can't get over a protest? https://t.co/raCwpONRdq

As the Giants stood by domestic-abuser Josh Brown through much of last season, Smith questioned Mara and his team's morals regarding Kaepernick.
My issue really isn't just the hate on Kap...it's what folks prioritize as wrong....hit a woman cool...sexual assault cool...kneel OH NO

The now-Philadelphia Eagles receiver interacted with many Twitter users to explain his reasoning, clarifying that he doesn't believe the 96 employed NFL quarterbacks aren't better than Kaepernick, adding that he has sympathy for military members, as his own father spent over 20 years in the army.
Eventually, Smith took the high road, stating that he's made his point and doesn't need to bicker with everyone with a different opinion and a keyboard, before leaving his followers with a note from Martin Luther King, Jr.
