5 teams that should add Eric Decker

In a move that can only be characterized as confirmation that the team is tanking, it was reported Tuesday that the New York Jets will be parting ways with receiver Eric Decker three years into his five-year contract.

Decker is just the latest on the list of discarded former Jets this offseason, but at 30 years old, the seven-year pro still has plenty to offer an NFL squad. Here are five teams who should inquire about his services:

Bills

Cap Space: $12.33 million

Buffalo is in hot pursuit of Jeremy Maclin, but should they not land the former Chief, Decker would be an ideal consolation prize.

The Bills need a No. 2 receiver behind Sammy Watkins. Second-round pick Zay Jones could eventually fill that role, but for 2017, Decker's precise rout running and reliable hands could be the ideal complement to Watkins' big-play ability.

Bears

Cap Space: $29.38 million

Decker once had back-to-back seasons with at least 1,000 yards and 11 touchdowns with the Denver Broncos under John Fox, who now coaches the Bears.

The Bears are in desperate need of an actual starting receiver with a questionable group of unproven and washed-up pass-catchers on the roster. Decker could be a reliable safety blanket out of the slot for young Mitchell Trubisky and provide guidance for the younger receivers in the Bears' offense.

49ers

Cap Space: $68.3 million

Pierre Garcon is going to need some help in San Francisco this season. The 49ers didn't add much to their league-worst receiving corps other than Garcon this offseason.

Decker could certainly get the money he wants from John Lynch as the 49ers sit with an NFL high in cap space. Going from the Jets to the Niners isn't much of an upgrade for Decker in terms of having a chance to win, though it's definitely a bump up.

Titans

Cap Space: $45.7 million

It's not always about football. Decker's wife, Jessie James Decker, is a country-pop singer who would certainly enjoy being closer to the Nashville music scene.

The Titans also happen to be on the rise with plenty of room to improve at the wide receiver position, and have a pair of rookie pass-catchers in need of some tutoring. Decker could also take the chance to saddle up with Marcus Mariota, one of the most exciting young quarterbacks in the NFL.

Ravens

Cap Space: $3.66 million

Like the Bills, the Ravens have shown interest in adding Maclin to their pass-catching group, which did not replace Steve Smith or Kamar Aiken this offseason.

As speedster Mike Wallace and third-year pro Breshad Perriman are expected to man the outside positions of Baltimore's offense, Decker would fit nicely into the slot to give Joe Flacco one of the more well-rounded receiver groups he's had as a pro.
