The Baltimore Ravens' offensive line took a major hit in brain power with John Urschel's decision to retire from football at age 26.
Urschel, who was expected to compete to start at center for the Ravens, participated in offseason workouts with the Ravens but informed the team Thursday of his decision to retire.
Urschel is more famous for what he does off the field than on it. He's a Ph.D. candidate in mathematics at Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and has released multiple research papers.
