Miami Dolphins running back Jay Ajayi sustained a concussion in Monday's practice, the team confirmed Wednesday, according to ESPN's James Walker.
The third-year pro will be forced to sit out at least one week of training camp, sources told Armando Salguero of The Miami Herald.
Kenyan Drake and Damien Williams will likely split the first-team reps with Ajayi sidelined.
While Ajayi should have plenty of time to recover prior to the start of the regular season, it remains to be seen whether the Dolphins limit his playing time over the preseason after this injury.
Ajayi is key to the Dolphins' playoff hopes in 2017 after breaking out last season with a 1,272-yard campaign.
