Los Angeles Rams defensive tackle Dominique Easley will miss the 2017 season after an MRI revealed he tore his ACL, a source told ESPN's Adam Schefter.
The 25-year-old was carted off the practice field Tuesday, according to ESPN's Alden Gonzalez.
Easley has a lengthy history of such injuries. In college at Florida, he suffered torn ligaments in both knees, and during his rookie year with the New England Patriots, he suffered a knee injury.
The loss of Easley for the year is a significant blow, especially with star defensive tackle Aaron Donald engaged in a contract holdout and staying away from training camp.
Easley joined the Rams last offseason, and while he didn't start a game in 2016, he appeared in all regular-season contests. In rotational duty, he racked up an impressive 35 total tackles and 3.5 sacks.
