On paper, Friday's moves made the Buffalo Bills less likely to end their playoff drought this year, but it's all part of a plan - one sports fans have heard before.

"It's part of the process," Bills head coach Sean McDermott told reporters while addressing his roster shakeup, before throwing in a quick wink.

"The Process," as it's known, has been made famous in recent years by the Philadelphia 76ers, who asked their fans to "trust the process" while completely gutting their roster in the interest of obtaining high draft picks.

With the draft selections collected in Friday's trades, which saw Sammy Watkins and Ronald Darby shipped elsewhere, the Bills now hold two picks in each of the first three rounds of the 2018 NFL Draft.
