Kaepernick nears $1M pledge goal with latest $100K donation

While Colin Kaepernick remains unemployed, the free-agent quarterback continues to make big strides in his charitable work.

Kaepernick's foundation announced May's donations Wednesday, which took his total to $800,000 of the $1 million he's pledged to give to community organizations. He's been detailing exactly how his monthly $100,000 donations will be used on his foundation's website.

May's $100,000 was split between The Dreamville Foundation, Lower Eastside Girls Club, and 100 Suits For 100 Men.

The Dreamville Foundation, founded by hip-hop artist J.Cole, helps urban youth "have a dream, believe in their dream, and achieve their dream" with dedicated events and programs.

Lower Eastside Girls Club, based in New York City, offers no-cost programs to young women and their families, with a mission to "break the cycle of local poverty by training the next generation of ethical, entrepreneurial and environmental leaders."

Finally, 100 Suits For 100 Men provides free business-appropriate clothing to men and women who are seeking employment. The organization concentrates on helping "formerly incarcerated individuals, homeless individuals, gang members, and survivors of domestic violence."
