With just over two weeks until the Jacksonville Jaguars' season opener, head coach Doug Marrone still isn't prepared to settle on one quarterback.

Neither Blake Bortles nor Chad Henne stood out in Thursday's 24-23 preseason loss to the Carolina Panthers, leaving Marrone seemingly no closer to a decision.

"I'm not going to stand up here and comment a lot on the two," Marrone said after the game, according to John Oehser of the team's official website. "I'm going to go back and look at things and see where we're at."

Marrone declared the starting job was "up there for grabs" after Bortles' abysmal performance in the second preseason contest. And while the clock is ticking for the head coach to pick a starter, he won't rush the crucial decision.

"I'm not going to put that pressure on myself to say, 'Hey, listen. I need to do this.' I've got time," Marrone said, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.

Henne started the game and played the entire first half, with Bortles taking over after the break. While both had strong moments and questionable throws, they received little help from their teammates.

The two signal-callers were victimized by drops, poor protection, and little production on the ground with first-round pick running back Leonard Fournette sidelined with a foot injury.

Marrone admitted having a fledgling ground game made "it very difficult for whoever's playing quarterback," per Oehser.

Despite the less-than-ideal situation, the Jaguars must figure out who between Bortles and Henne gives them the best chance of winning - and soon.
