Despite the Los Angeles Rams' recent efforts to put an end to defensive tackle Aaron Donald's holdout, the team and player are "not close" in contract negotiations, Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk reports, citing a league source.
Donald skipped all of training camp and the preseason in an effort to land a new deal with the Rams. He's entering the final year of his rookie contract and the Rams picked up the fifth-year option for 2018.
Members of the Rams' brass reportedly flew to Atlanta on Wednesday in order to meet with Donald in person.
The two sides have just nine days to reach a deal before the regular season begins.
