Le'Veon Bell was on the football field with his teammates for the first time since last season, after signing his $12.1-million franchise tag tender for the 2017 campaign.
"I feel good, I feel great, I feel fresh," the Pittsburgh Steelers running back said, according to Aditi Kinkhabwala of NFL Network, after skipping all of training camp.
Bell stayed away from the club after both sides failed to come to terms on a long-term agreement, forcing the fifth-year pro to either play on the franchise tag or holdout.
Bell was always expected to sign the rich, one-year contract, but the absence of a multi-year deal provided him with an excuse to skip all of training camp and the preseason, avoiding the possibility of injury.
Now, it's up to the Steelers whether Bell will be available for the first game of the season Sunday against the Cleveland Browns.
"I'm worried about this year and worried about winning a Super Bowl," Bell said, according to Missi Matthews of Steelers.com.
