Washington Redskins tight end Jordan Reed has a fractured big toe that will affect him for "at least the early part of the season," according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.
The ailment forces Reed to adjust the way in which he runs, Rapoport adds.
Reed, a four-year pro, has battled injuries throughout his career, but early indications are that he intends to play through the latest malady.
A top-flight weapon when healthy, Reed saw limited action in the preseason. He played in 12 games last season and recorded 686 yards and six touchdowns.
