Roethlisberger: 'Teams need to fear coming into Heinz Field'
The Pittsburgh Steelers opened the season with a narrow 21-18 road win over the Cleveland Browns, with Ben Roethlisberger going 24-for-36 for 263 yards, two touchdowns and one interception.
As the team gets set to host the Minnesota Vikings in Week 2, Roethlisberger's looking for a little help.
"I expect it and hope it'll be sold out, loud, crazy. You know, we need to bring back that homefield, Heinz Field mystique, if you will," Roethsliberger said, according to ESPN's Jeremy Fowler.
"It was always that way when I first got here, the first few years when I was here and not saying we've lost it, but teams need to fear coming into Heinz Field. One, because of the fans and the craziness and two, because of our play."
Savvy fantasy managers and bettors are well aware of the home/away splits of Roethlisberger.
Just last season, he threw for nearly identical yardage totals at home and on the road, despite playing two more road games. He had a touchdown to interception ratio of 20:5 at Heinz field, compared to 9:8 elsewhere.
With two extra road games played in his career, he has won 15 more games, thrown 43 more touchdown passes and 17 fewer interceptions at home.
