Clark County Sheriff Joe Lombardo said Friday that there is no evidence to determine that Las Vegas Police used excessive force towards, nor racially profiled, Seattle Seahawks defensive end Michael Bennett during an August 26 incident.
Bennett alleged that officers threatened to shoot him in the head while detaining him, after he ran from a Las Vegas casino following the Floyd Mayweather-Conor McGregor boxing match.
TMZ obtained footage of a body camera video, which details Bennett's detainment. Three officers detained Bennett, but one of the detaining officers elected not to turn on his body camera.
"They did what they were trained to do," Lombardo said during a press conference, according to Mike Shoro of the Las Vegas Review-Journal.
Bennett is seen on the camera, telling officers "I swear, I didn't do nothing man."
Bennett also asks what he's being arrested for, but the officers' response is inaudible.
