Buffalo Bills head coach Sean McDermott says tight end Charles Clay underwent a scope Monday morning and will miss multiple weeks due to a knee injury suffered in Sunday's loss to the Cincinnati Bengals, according to Mike Rodak of ESPN.
Clay underwent surgery to repair a torn meniscus and MCL sprain, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.
Clay leads the Bills in receiving yards and shares the team lead with two receiving touchdowns.
His Week 5 appearance was cut short after catching two of three targets for 31 yards.
Backup tight end Nick O'Leary replaced him Sunday and went on to catch five of six targets for 54 yards as quarterback Tyrod Taylor's new No. 1 option.
