The Tampa Bay Buccaneers' ceaseless search to end their kicking woes has taken them to Patrick Murray as the team signed a deal with the fourth-year pro on Monday.
The Bucs brought in a collection of free-agent kickers for a workout after Nick Folk went 0-for-3 on field goals in a 19-14 loss to the New England Patriots Thursday.
Folk has missed five field goals and two extra-point attempts in four games this season, prompting the team to look elsewhere for kicking help. Folk was placed on injured reserve as a result.
The team famously selected Roberto Aguayo with a second-round pick in last year's draft to shore up their kicking deficiencies, but his struggles extended into this preseason and led the team to turn to Folk, who has disappointed since winning the job.
Murray kicked for the Bucs in 2014, going 20-for-24 on field-goal attempts with a long of 55 yards. He was released last May after Aguayo was drafted and was placed on injured reserve in September after suffering a knee injury while playing for the Cleveland Browns.
