Jerry Jones: 'No question' NFL is suffering from protests

Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones further cemented his stance Sunday against players protesting social injustices during the national anthem.

"There is no question the league is suffering negative effects from these protests," he told Brandon George of the Dallas Morning News after his Cowboys whipped the San Francisco 49ers in the Bay Area.

Jones has been one of the more vocal owners against player demonstrations during the anthem, and previously vowed to bench any player who participates in such displays.

"Now if all this makes you stronger to represent messages then let's don't do it in a way that tears down the strength of the NFL," he added of the protests.

Jones noted that several Cowboys sponsors have expressed "concern" over the protests.

Numerous players from teams all over the league have been kneeling, sitting, or raising a fist during the anthem to protest social injustices - namely racial inequality and police brutality - throughout the U.S., drawing outrage from President Donald Trump, among others.
