Ahmad Rashad: Michael Jordan is on Vikings' bandwagon
The Minnesota Vikings have a a new celebrity supporter.
On the strength of Minnesota's incredible 9-2 season, former Vikings receiver Ahmad Rashad has recruited a new fan.
"I have turned Michael Jordan into a Vikings fan," Rashad said this week to Chris Tomasson of the St. Paul Pioneer Press.
Rashad said he and Jordan live across the street from one another in Jupiter, Fla., and often watch NFL games together.
"He's a Patriots fan, but in the NFC, I think he's come around and he likes the Vikings," Rashad said. "We watch every Sunday. He not only cheers for them, but he's jumped on the bandwagon. Each week, he's cheering more."
Rashad played for the Vikings from 1976-82 and was inducted into the team's Ring of Honor this season. In his post-football career, he was an NBA sportscaster and developed a friendship with Jordan.
And friends don't let friends cheer for the Chicago Bears, apparently.
