Bills' White won't confirm he sent text saying 'the whole hood' wants Gronk
Buffalo Bills corner Tre'Davious White danced around a question regarding a text it's believed he sent to ESPN analyst Ryan Clark about the hit he took from Rob Gronkowski last Sunday.
Gronkowski struck White in the back of the head while he laid vulnerable on the field after an interception. The blow resulted in a suspension for the New England Patriots tight end and a concussion for White.
On Thursday, White was asked if he sent Clark a text that read, "the whole hood want 'em" in reference to Gronkowski, but the corner refused to confirm or deny the speculation.
"That's between me and Ryan. ... Nobody knows other than me," White said, according to ESPN's Mike Rodak.
When asked about the play itself, White was more forthcoming.
"I'm laying there. He snuck me with my back turned," White said of Gronkowski's hit. "He could have broke my neck. I mean, I got a son to raise (and) all that. People don't think about that when they just react.
"I'm glad I had my mouthpiece in. I probably could've bit my tongue off. I bit my lip pretty bad. Terrible headache. It is what it is. He did what he wanted to do. ... He is what he did. Dirty shot, so what does that make him? Dirty player. Simple."
Gronkowski is a native of Amherst, N.Y., a short drive from Buffalo.
The Bills and Patriots will meet again in Week 16.
