The New York Giants interviewed interim general manager Kevin Abrams for the permanent role on Friday, the team announced.
Abrams joins Giants vice president of player evaluation Marc Ross as the second internal candidate to interview for the position. Current ESPN analyst Louis Riddick and former Carolina Panthers general manager Dave Gettleman have also met with the team. Of the four candidates, Gettleman - who spent 15 years as a personnel executive in the Giants’ front office - is reportedly considered the favorite.
Abrams was named interim general manager after the Giants fired longtime GM Jerry Reese on Dec. 4. He previously served as the assistant general manager for 16 years.
