Matt Patricia was introduced as the new head coach of the Detroit Lions on Wednesday, and has some decisions to make with his staff.
Patricia previously served as the New England Patriots' defensive coordinator and brought over Paul Pasqualoni to serve in that role with the Lions. Meanwhile, Lions offensive coordinator Jim Bob Cooter remains on the staff, but Patricia didn't explicitly say he will keep the same title.
"Jim Bob is on staff and he will be here. Obviously he's done a great job here in what he's been able to accomplish with Matt Stafford and the offense," Patricia said. "Looking forward to working together and continuing that success and building on the things that have been done on that side of the ball."
Also joining the Lions staff is George Godsey as quarterbacks coach. Patricia and Godsey coached together with the Patriots from 2011-13 and Godsey has experience as an offensive coordinator.
Patricia is just three days removed from an appearance in the Super Bowl, so he'll presumably need some time to evaluate his staff before putting all the pieces in place.
