The Chicago Bears made a pair of roster moves Monday, officially releasing linebacker Pernell McPhee and defensive back Quintin Demps.
McPhee appeared in 13 games for the Bears last season, starting five and recording a total of 21 combined tackles, four sacks, and two passes defended. The 29-year-old spent four seasons with the Baltimore Ravens (2011-14) before joining the Bears in 2015.
Demps' tenure with the Bears ends after just one season, in which he appeared in just three games. The 32-year-old signed a three-year, $13.5-million deal last offseason, but missed the majority of the campaign due to a broken arm he suffered in the Bears' 23-17 overtime win over the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 3.
