The Kansas City Chiefs are expected to release safety Ron Parker, The Kansas City Star's Terez A. Paylor reports, citing a source.
Parker's release would save $4.9 million in 2018 salary cap space for the cash-strapped club.
The Chiefs' defensive makeover continues after they traded away Marcus Peters last week and announced that longtime linebacker Derrick Johnson would not return.
Parker, who turns 31 in August, spent the last five seasons in Kansas City. He accumulated 67 tackles, two fumble recoveries, and two interceptions in 2017.
